September 18, 2023 THE HOPEFULLY NOT SO BORING ADVENTURES OF ELDER WILLIAMSON CHAPTER XXXXVIII

this has been the longest transfer i've ever had.. this was the 6.5th week here.. and transfers are on friday.. *anyways, i was kinda poor there for a second or 2 *basically in the area i'm in, there's some problems with the ATMs and our cards, which means i haven't been able to take money out this whole transfer *we we're able to go to the city (barahona) one time in the first week, and we got some money there, but that's all the money i've had for travels, and anything else we wanna buy in the street like water.. or if we want drinking water at home that won't murder us *so anyways i finally pulled out some money, cuz we went to another town (neiba) that's like 45 min away for a district council, and a baptismal interview afterwards.. but basically we then proceeded to get stuck there for a little while, because all of the busses had already left *it was only like 5:30 or so, but we didn't really know what to do, because there weren't really a lot of other options *we called the zone leaders.. they didn't pick up *we called our president, and he was like.. try to get home.. ahhh.. good advice *we called the hermanas who we were visiting there in neiba, and they said there wasn't anyone with a car, besides one really old dude who was presently sick *so anyways, we start looking around for modes of transportation, and we know about these things called pompuras.. idk how to spell that, there's no way it's even a real word.. but basically just imagine a smart car.. but a little smaller.. and it has the motor of a screw driver, and the engine of a rat *but they don't really go very far.. or so we thought.. turns out they'll drive you for 45 min for a small price of 1000 dop (like $20) which might not sound like a lot, but we had gotten there on the bus for 120 dop (like $3) *we got back at like 8 *silly adventure *we got a call from the APs tho, and the two dominicans are leaving, but we don't know to where.. so we all four have to go sleep overnight at the zone leaders house on thursday, so we can make it to the capital on time on friday to grab our new comps and make the treck back anyways.. that's all.. love you guys have a great week! acts 3:6-8 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. vroooom vroom.. *there's an amazon store in my area now.. which means i can go in there and order things from amazon, and it will ship to the store.. it costs a little extra and everything, but my shoes are a bit holy.. so i got some new ones.. we'll see when they actually decide to show up *also on monday, i saw on somebody's story from san cristobal, that there had been some kind of huge explosion.. a ton of people hurt.. killed.. it took out 3 buildings completely.. and damaged a ton of other buildings too.. *so that was super random.. i had lived in cambita before, which is technically part of san cristobal.. it's about 20 min away, but i've been to san cristobal many times before, since i lived over there for 6 months *but anyways, one of the other nights, we were teaching this lady, and going over the plan of salvation, or the plan of heavenly father (it's now called) and we asked her why she thinks we are here on the earth.. and she kinda jokingl...

October 2, 2023 THE HOPEFULLY NOT SO BORING ADVENTURES OF ELDER WILLIAMSON CHAPTER L

thank goodness to elder helquist here who could confirm that L was the correct number... *welll.. it's been an interesting week for sure *we've stayed at home about half of the days because of sickness *but for the first time in my mission, it's not me who's sick *my comp has some kind of ameba parasite *i won't go into the details of what that actually means (cuz i have no idea) but the symptoms are pretty weird *but we weren't really sure what was going on for a while, and we had to go to the hospital like 3 or 4 times to get all of the tests and everything done for them to be sure *but he's been doing better for the last couple days, and he got a tonnn of medicine *he has two types of pills.. one he has to take every 12 hours for 7 days.. the other he has to take once every day for the next month *and then the last one is a kind of little liquid stuff that he says doesn't really have much flavor, it's just kinda oily *anyways tho, h...

July 15, 2024 THE HOPEFULLY NOT SO BORING ADVENTURES OF ELDER WILLIAMSON CHAPTER LXXXXI

weeee had transfers.. said goodbye to canada boy, and i have received a new comp.. we got a call on tuesday before transfers, and pres told me i was gonna be training again.. i thought it would be a gringo, cuz usually there are more gringos that come in at this time of year than latinos.. buttt at these transfers there was only one gringo elder that came in.. sooo i got elder Ibargüen.. he's from panama, so he speaks spanish, and he was studying english before the mission so he knows a little.. annnd he was called to speak haitian creole.. which is a littttle awkward not gonna lie, cuz i definitely don't be speaking such language.. cuzzz i wanted to focus on mastering spanish (which i am still far from).. and the other thing, is that there aren't any haitain speaking wards or even branches in our mission.. annnd because of that, there are no sacrament meetings in haitain.. sooo i haven't put any emphasis in teaching in creole, because they n...
