August 28, 2023 THE HOPEFULLY NOT SO BORING ADVENTURES OF ELDER WILLIAMSON CHAPTER XXXXV

well that was weird.. *so monday the whole day i was fighting a migraine, so we didn't do much that day for pday *but my comp (elder almonte) and elder peña went to barahona (the city) for zone pday (just playing card games at the church i think) *so i was at home with elder jorgensen, at we reach 6:00 (the time that our pday ends and we go out teaching for the rest of the day) *and basically our comps hadn't gotten back home yet, so we decided to just do an exchange in their area, because they had more lessons planned *so we did that, and it wasn't till we had gotten home when we realized that my comp had sent a voice message, basically saying that they had missed the guagua (little dinky bus thingy) to get back home *so they had to spend the night at the zone leaders house *and then that same night we got a message in the mission chat from our president, saying that there was a tropical storm coming, and we would have to stay in our houses for the next two days *sooo we start kinda preparing for a storm.. we already had water and food and stuff, so we thought we would be fine *annnnd.. yah we were fine.. cuz where we're at in vicente noble, basically it rained a little (like kinda a lot? but no flooding or anything) and there wasn't any wind or anything *and the power went off and on a couple times, but idek if that was from the storm, because that happens all the time anyways sooo *it was kinda cold for a couple days (not aCtually cold, but basically you could walk 10 steps without breaking a sweat, so it was pretty nice) *but we basically kinda just stayed in the house for 2 days trying to text people a little, but mostly just watching gospel library videos, reading the book of mormon.. which is fun in small amounts.. but we got pretty bored, and felt kinda dum, cuz we definitely coulda gone out and been totally fine *but i'm not sure how the storm affected the rest of the island, and i'm sure it was easier for our president to just tell us to all stay in just in case i think that's kinda all that happened this week tho.. have a great week.. love you guys! mosiah 24:11-14 And Amulon commanded them that they should stop their cries; and he put guards over them to watch them, that whosoever should be found calling upon God should be put to death. vroooom vroom.. *there's an amazon store in my area now.. which means i can go in there and order things from amazon, and it will ship to the store.. it costs a little extra and everything, but my shoes are a bit holy.. so i got some new ones.. we'll see when they actually decide to show up *also on monday, i saw on somebody's story from san cristobal, that there had been some kind of huge explosion.. a ton of people hurt.. killed.. it took out 3 buildings completely.. and damaged a ton of other buildings too.. *so that was super random.. i had lived in cambita before, which is technically part of san cristobal.. it's about 20 min away, but i've been to san cristobal many times before, since i lived over there for 6 months *but anyways, one of the other nights, we were teaching this lady, and going over the plan of salvation, or the plan of heavenly father (it's now called) and we asked her why she thinks we are here on the earth.. and she kinda jokingl...

October 2, 2023 THE HOPEFULLY NOT SO BORING ADVENTURES OF ELDER WILLIAMSON CHAPTER L

thank goodness to elder helquist here who could confirm that L was the correct number... *welll.. it's been an interesting week for sure *we've stayed at home about half of the days because of sickness *but for the first time in my mission, it's not me who's sick *my comp has some kind of ameba parasite *i won't go into the details of what that actually means (cuz i have no idea) but the symptoms are pretty weird *but we weren't really sure what was going on for a while, and we had to go to the hospital like 3 or 4 times to get all of the tests and everything done for them to be sure *but he's been doing better for the last couple days, and he got a tonnn of medicine *he has two types of pills.. one he has to take every 12 hours for 7 days.. the other he has to take once every day for the next month *and then the last one is a kind of little liquid stuff that he says doesn't really have much flavor, it's just kinda oily *anyways tho, h...

July 15, 2024 THE HOPEFULLY NOT SO BORING ADVENTURES OF ELDER WILLIAMSON CHAPTER LXXXXI

weeee had transfers.. said goodbye to canada boy, and i have received a new comp.. we got a call on tuesday before transfers, and pres told me i was gonna be training again.. i thought it would be a gringo, cuz usually there are more gringos that come in at this time of year than latinos.. buttt at these transfers there was only one gringo elder that came in.. sooo i got elder Ibargüen.. he's from panama, so he speaks spanish, and he was studying english before the mission so he knows a little.. annnd he was called to speak haitian creole.. which is a littttle awkward not gonna lie, cuz i definitely don't be speaking such language.. cuzzz i wanted to focus on mastering spanish (which i am still far from).. and the other thing, is that there aren't any haitain speaking wards or even branches in our mission.. annnd because of that, there are no sacrament meetings in haitain.. sooo i haven't put any emphasis in teaching in creole, because they n...
