February 27, 2023 THE HOPEFULLY NOT SO BORING ADVENTURES OF ELDER WILLIAMSON CHAPTER XIX

wowww.. i did nOt realize how much less time i was gonna have, when i'm actually functioning as a regular missionary! it's super cool! buttt it's friday, and i'm just now starting my email.. sooo i think i'm gonna do one of those speed ones with the bullet points.. gettt ready... *had zone council (ate pizza right before for "zone lunch" and tried not to fall asleep for the hour long council) *heard a story about a completely flattened road dog, but there's no picture, so idk how true it is (sorry vancott) *our 2 gallon tub of icecream was gone at the beginning of the week (sooo it lasted like half a week) (scratch that, the other elders went and bought another one on that same day actually) *we were invited to our cuban, pastor, neighbors' house, but we "don't have enough time" (meaning we actually don't have time, especially since his families' income depends on him being an adventist pastor, so he probably doesn't wanna listen to our beliefs) *we've been focusing more on families as a whole (rather than just one person who is there) *i made fajitas, but i accidentally grabbed bone in (and tendin in, and talon in, and skin in, and cartilage in, and other bothersomely questionable substances) chicken.. basically super gross, and we forgot to buy tortillas *i am beginning to become fat, which is interesting, because that has never once before been a possibility (it's because the food here is seriously like 70% soybean oil) *i'm accidentally learning creole as well as spanish now (because we're teaching a lot more people in our hatian village now) *after finally getting the food quantities right after the first 2 transfers, we have new people in our house, so we're back to not knowing how much food we need (we're basically out again (friday)) *we've played lots of "unstable unicorns" in our extra time *the power went out everywhere from saturday night at like 8pm, until like 3pm on sunday (so our icecream all melted, and now it's not as good cuz it's refrozen and stuff, buttt that's fine, cuz it's almost gone, and we can get a new one) *i got to invite someone to baptism (that was super cool i thought, because our friend is progressing a lot, and she's super cool, buttt she's someone who dEfinitely needs the gospel in her life) (like we all do) ok cool, love you guys, bubuy

vroooom vroom.. *there's an amazon store in my area now.. which means i can go in there and order things from amazon, and it will ship to the store.. it costs a little extra and everything, but my shoes are a bit holy.. so i got some new ones.. we'll see when they actually decide to show up *also on monday, i saw on somebody's story from san cristobal, that there had been some kind of huge explosion.. a ton of people hurt.. killed.. it took out 3 buildings completely.. and damaged a ton of other buildings too.. *so that was super random.. i had lived in cambita before, which is technically part of san cristobal.. it's about 20 min away, but i've been to san cristobal many times before, since i lived over there for 6 months *but anyways, one of the other nights, we were teaching this lady, and going over the plan of salvation, or the plan of heavenly father (it's now called) and we asked her why she thinks we are here on the earth.. and she kinda jokingl...

October 2, 2023 THE HOPEFULLY NOT SO BORING ADVENTURES OF ELDER WILLIAMSON CHAPTER L

thank goodness to elder helquist here who could confirm that L was the correct number... *welll.. it's been an interesting week for sure *we've stayed at home about half of the days because of sickness *but for the first time in my mission, it's not me who's sick *my comp has some kind of ameba parasite *i won't go into the details of what that actually means (cuz i have no idea) but the symptoms are pretty weird *but we weren't really sure what was going on for a while, and we had to go to the hospital like 3 or 4 times to get all of the tests and everything done for them to be sure *but he's been doing better for the last couple days, and he got a tonnn of medicine *he has two types of pills.. one he has to take every 12 hours for 7 days.. the other he has to take once every day for the next month *and then the last one is a kind of little liquid stuff that he says doesn't really have much flavor, it's just kinda oily *anyways tho, h...

July 15, 2024 THE HOPEFULLY NOT SO BORING ADVENTURES OF ELDER WILLIAMSON CHAPTER LXXXXI

weeee had transfers.. said goodbye to canada boy, and i have received a new comp.. we got a call on tuesday before transfers, and pres told me i was gonna be training again.. i thought it would be a gringo, cuz usually there are more gringos that come in at this time of year than latinos.. buttt at these transfers there was only one gringo elder that came in.. sooo i got elder Ibargüen.. he's from panama, so he speaks spanish, and he was studying english before the mission so he knows a little.. annnd he was called to speak haitian creole.. which is a littttle awkward not gonna lie, cuz i definitely don't be speaking such language.. cuzzz i wanted to focus on mastering spanish (which i am still far from).. and the other thing, is that there aren't any haitain speaking wards or even branches in our mission.. annnd because of that, there are no sacrament meetings in haitain.. sooo i haven't put any emphasis in teaching in creole, because they n...
