November 27, 2023 THE HOPEFULLY NOT SO BORING ADVENTURES OF ELDER WILLIAMSON CHAPTER LVIII

merry thanksgiving! 🥳🦃🍗🇺🇸🍾 *on monday we were gOing to go to the capital to get my comp checked out again for all his stomach problems, but then we got a text that said not to, cuz the capital was too flooded, so we ended up just going to barahona instead and having kinda a normal day *we've had lottts of lessons fall thru this week, which meant a lottt of finding *and on thursday our president gave us permission to have a zone lunch for thanksgiving, and we did a pot luck *i was kinda expecting people to just bring like cereal and ramen and stuff for some reason, but people brought some pretty good stuff *there were different kinds of rice, this one thing that was a giant chip with meat thingy on it, there was teriyaki chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, 2 types of homeade bread, and for some reason the APs were there at our "feast" but they brought tiny pumpkin pies, and then we brought brownies *that was fun! and then we had district council right after, and we ended up just going with another district, because the hermanas were supposed to give our training, but one of them was sick at home with a kidney infection.. sooo.. *and then since my comp has been dying, he's technically on a pretty strict diet of not being able to eat anything with.. flavor.. but for thanksgiving he was just like "i don't even care" *so anyways that made things a lot worse for the next couple days *so the next day i went on an exchange with elder helquist in his area while my comp died in the house, and this day.. we had a member visit that didn't fall thru right at the beginning of the day.. and other than that, every single lesson fell thru.. it was awesome! so much fun, especially cuz it was elder helquists first time leading the area since being in the mission, and he did super well.. definitely one of the most crazy days of the mission *and then we had interveiws with president on saturday, and we got to meet their son who just got done with his schooling over in guatemala, and this kid is 17, he'll be going to byu for a year and then starting his mission, and he already speaks super fluent english *and then we ended up going out for a couple hours on saturday to invite people to church but yah that's all i got.. have a great week, love you guys! doctrine and covenants 104:2 With promise immutable and unchangeable, that inasmuch as those whom I commanded were faithful they should be blessed with a multiplicity of blessings;

vroooom vroom.. *there's an amazon store in my area now.. which means i can go in there and order things from amazon, and it will ship to the store.. it costs a little extra and everything, but my shoes are a bit holy.. so i got some new ones.. we'll see when they actually decide to show up *also on monday, i saw on somebody's story from san cristobal, that there had been some kind of huge explosion.. a ton of people hurt.. killed.. it took out 3 buildings completely.. and damaged a ton of other buildings too.. *so that was super random.. i had lived in cambita before, which is technically part of san cristobal.. it's about 20 min away, but i've been to san cristobal many times before, since i lived over there for 6 months *but anyways, one of the other nights, we were teaching this lady, and going over the plan of salvation, or the plan of heavenly father (it's now called) and we asked her why she thinks we are here on the earth.. and she kinda jokingl...

October 2, 2023 THE HOPEFULLY NOT SO BORING ADVENTURES OF ELDER WILLIAMSON CHAPTER L

thank goodness to elder helquist here who could confirm that L was the correct number... *welll.. it's been an interesting week for sure *we've stayed at home about half of the days because of sickness *but for the first time in my mission, it's not me who's sick *my comp has some kind of ameba parasite *i won't go into the details of what that actually means (cuz i have no idea) but the symptoms are pretty weird *but we weren't really sure what was going on for a while, and we had to go to the hospital like 3 or 4 times to get all of the tests and everything done for them to be sure *but he's been doing better for the last couple days, and he got a tonnn of medicine *he has two types of pills.. one he has to take every 12 hours for 7 days.. the other he has to take once every day for the next month *and then the last one is a kind of little liquid stuff that he says doesn't really have much flavor, it's just kinda oily *anyways tho, h...

July 15, 2024 THE HOPEFULLY NOT SO BORING ADVENTURES OF ELDER WILLIAMSON CHAPTER LXXXXI

weeee had transfers.. said goodbye to canada boy, and i have received a new comp.. we got a call on tuesday before transfers, and pres told me i was gonna be training again.. i thought it would be a gringo, cuz usually there are more gringos that come in at this time of year than latinos.. buttt at these transfers there was only one gringo elder that came in.. sooo i got elder Ibargüen.. he's from panama, so he speaks spanish, and he was studying english before the mission so he knows a little.. annnd he was called to speak haitian creole.. which is a littttle awkward not gonna lie, cuz i definitely don't be speaking such language.. cuzzz i wanted to focus on mastering spanish (which i am still far from).. and the other thing, is that there aren't any haitain speaking wards or even branches in our mission.. annnd because of that, there are no sacrament meetings in haitain.. sooo i haven't put any emphasis in teaching in creole, because they n...
