May 27, 2024 THE HOPEFULLY NOT SO BORING ADVENTURES OF ELDER WILLIAMSON CHAPTER LXXXIV
welll it's now wednesday.. and i'm supposed to get the stitches out today.. sooo just waiting for the doctor to respond confirming that we can come, and then we will travel over there.. the problem however, is that the majority of the stitches have at this point buried themselves deep in the skin..
she made them super tight, and with that combined with the ridiculous swelling, the stitches were just straight up cutting into my skin.. sooo that's made it difficult to walk and do stuff, but now after 10 days.. the skin has grown completely over many of the stitches, and idk how she's gonna get them out without just cutting everything open again.. which really seems like it would be the slightest bit counterproductive, but i'm not the one who went to dominican medical school, so what do i know?..
nope, didn't have to cut anything.. basically when she did the stitches she just went in with the needle, like in thru the nail, and then down into the skin, out the side of the toe, and then back in where she had just cut the toenail and a ton of flesh too for some reason, and then she just went under the nail again and popped it back out right where she put it in, and then tied the beginning to the end.. she did 4 of those on the left toe, and 3 on the right.. i don't know why..
but anyways, i thought that that would mean that to remove them, she was going to cut the knot, and then grab the middle, which was sticking out of the side of my toe, and pull it out that way.. cuz that seemed the most possible thing to do, and would cause minimal scraping sliding movement of the stitch traveling thru my skin.. however that became a problem when the skin just grew over the middle part that was previously exposed.. however, that was actually never her plan.. she instead, cut the knot, grabbed one end of the stitch, and then just yanked..
so, that means that the stitch had to make the full rotation of thru the nail, into the under nail skin, and a nice half circle around the nail, under the skin, and then back up thru the nail.. now i had considered that she might do that, but thought it too difficult, and unnecessarily painful.. for some reason i again wasn't expecting this route, when i should have learned my lesson at this point, and realized that she ofc would choose the most difficult and painful method she could think of..
so she started on the left stitches, which i knew weren't going to hurt as bad, because they were less embedded, and therefore less connected to my skin.. and then she did the first one, and it wasss pretty painful.. but honestly not that bad, and it was over in like 2 seconds.. ofc she had to still do that 6 more times, and the right ones hurt a litttle more because that side had just consumed the stitches, but it wasn't really that bad.. and although it hurt, it still wasn't as bad as if she had had to do more cutting, or given me more numbing shots..
annnd the pain went away pretty quickly.. like i've been walking around with a limp for the past week, because the left one wasn't that bad, but the right one was cutting me every time i was walking because the toe would swell up and the stitch would not swell up obviously.. just imagine there's a knife pressed up against your skin, just enough to where it's not cutting you, but you can feel the pressure.. and then move the skin closer to the knife, annnd it gets cut.. and then just sits there until the swelling goes down, and then it keeps happening over and over ever time it swells up..
but anyways, like 10 min after she took them out and we started walking i could walk normally again.. so now it's pretty much fine i think, and if you've read all this then.. bro what? you're that bored? danggg.. well hopefully something actually interesting happens later on in this week, so that you can read about something good..
but yah, i can totally walk normaly now, which is nice.. and we're back to the grind.. just gotta focus on our people who a progressing so we can help them get baptised..
we had interveiws with pres, and that was alright.. pretty boring honestly, he kinda just rushed thru mine cuz he got there late and was trying to get thru it fast..
anyways that's all
