March 4, 2024 THE HOPEFULLY NOT SO BORING ADVENTURES OF ELDER WILLIAMSON CHAPTER LXXII

i forgot to mention in my last email, that they tried to catch me off guard in sacrament meeting last week.. and uhh.. they succeeded... i was helping out with the sacrament, and it gets finished yk, and they always say "thank you to the preisthood for blessing the sacrament, you may sit with your families if you want" or something like that.. so i get up to go sit down in the congregation, and as i'm walking to my seat the branch president starts to announce the speakers for that day.. and he's like "as our first speaker today, we will hear from elder williamson" and my first thought was "that guy knows my name?" and then i was like.. ahhh great.. cuzzz they definitely didn't tell me before.. and it's pretty common (for the missionaries) to be told like 5 minutes before the meeting starts, but then at least you have all the time during the announcements and hymns and stuff to think about it, and maybe come up with some scriptures or something.. or at least if i wasn't the first speaker i coulda come up with something.. but i didn't even have enough time to make it all the way to my seat, before it was time for me to speak.. sooo i just got up there and was like "helloooooo.. uh good morning.. uhhh today i will be speaking about something verrrrry important.." me rapidly scrolling thru the gospel topics and questions "veeeeery important".. "ahh yes.. today, i will be talking about the importance of the sabath day.." and then i proceeded to bs my way thru what was probably like 7 minutes of whatever just popped in my mind, and whatever scriptures i could find on the topic, while also trying to speak at the same time.. annnd i could definitely tell it wasn't the best talk i've ever given.. and it probably wAss one of the worst.. buttt at least i was able to fill a little bit of time in sacrament meeting... this week we have a mission tour, which is 3 days long.. which means that the first session was on wednesday, the second thursday, and then the third on friday.. and the first one was in azua, so all us in the "south" (which just means not in the capital) went to that one in person, and the rest of the mission watched over zoom.. then the second one was the opposite, so we watched it on zoom.. annnd then tomorrow on friday we'll all get together in the capital and have a conference with the entire mission.. since i've been in the mission, we've never had the entire mission together at once.. sooo i'll get to see all my little buddies that are all scattered about.. sooo that'll be fun.. and we're going to the capital, buttt without any of the perks, cuz we're just gonna go straight there, and then come straight back after sooooo.. i've also been dying sick (like always).. with a runny nose.. headache.. chills.. sore throat.. and i literally have no voice.. sooo i pretty much made my comp speak the whole time, cuz it hurt a lot to talk.. sooo that was cool, and i think it kinda helped him realize a little more that he knows a lot more than he thinks, he just has to speak more and not doubt himself so much.. but yah, the mission tour was super lit, got to see everyone.. it was kinda weird, cuz it all felt like a weird fever dream (we had a really weird night the night before the big one with everyone and i didn't sleep at all).. buttt it was lit.. we also have to go back to the capital on tuesday for my comps residency.. sooo we're about to be dirt poor.. unless we can somehow intercept my new debit card that's in the office that my parents sent me.. cuzzz my last one decided to break for some reason and started calling me a fraud.. there was also another thing that happened with basketball, and monsters, and pizza, and so forth.. but that's just a note for myself, so i can remember not to do thAt again... that's pretty much it for this week tho, have a great week, love you guys! 2 nefi 11:4 Behold, my soul delighteth in proving unto my people the truth of the coming of Christ; for, for this end hath the law of Moses been given; and all things which have been given of God from the beginning of the world, unto man, are the typifying of him.

vroooom vroom.. *there's an amazon store in my area now.. which means i can go in there and order things from amazon, and it will ship to the store.. it costs a little extra and everything, but my shoes are a bit holy.. so i got some new ones.. we'll see when they actually decide to show up *also on monday, i saw on somebody's story from san cristobal, that there had been some kind of huge explosion.. a ton of people hurt.. killed.. it took out 3 buildings completely.. and damaged a ton of other buildings too.. *so that was super random.. i had lived in cambita before, which is technically part of san cristobal.. it's about 20 min away, but i've been to san cristobal many times before, since i lived over there for 6 months *but anyways, one of the other nights, we were teaching this lady, and going over the plan of salvation, or the plan of heavenly father (it's now called) and we asked her why she thinks we are here on the earth.. and she kinda jokingl...

October 2, 2023 THE HOPEFULLY NOT SO BORING ADVENTURES OF ELDER WILLIAMSON CHAPTER L

thank goodness to elder helquist here who could confirm that L was the correct number... *welll.. it's been an interesting week for sure *we've stayed at home about half of the days because of sickness *but for the first time in my mission, it's not me who's sick *my comp has some kind of ameba parasite *i won't go into the details of what that actually means (cuz i have no idea) but the symptoms are pretty weird *but we weren't really sure what was going on for a while, and we had to go to the hospital like 3 or 4 times to get all of the tests and everything done for them to be sure *but he's been doing better for the last couple days, and he got a tonnn of medicine *he has two types of pills.. one he has to take every 12 hours for 7 days.. the other he has to take once every day for the next month *and then the last one is a kind of little liquid stuff that he says doesn't really have much flavor, it's just kinda oily *anyways tho, h...

July 15, 2024 THE HOPEFULLY NOT SO BORING ADVENTURES OF ELDER WILLIAMSON CHAPTER LXXXXI

weeee had transfers.. said goodbye to canada boy, and i have received a new comp.. we got a call on tuesday before transfers, and pres told me i was gonna be training again.. i thought it would be a gringo, cuz usually there are more gringos that come in at this time of year than latinos.. buttt at these transfers there was only one gringo elder that came in.. sooo i got elder Ibargüen.. he's from panama, so he speaks spanish, and he was studying english before the mission so he knows a little.. annnd he was called to speak haitian creole.. which is a littttle awkward not gonna lie, cuz i definitely don't be speaking such language.. cuzzz i wanted to focus on mastering spanish (which i am still far from).. and the other thing, is that there aren't any haitain speaking wards or even branches in our mission.. annnd because of that, there are no sacrament meetings in haitain.. sooo i haven't put any emphasis in teaching in creole, because they n...
