June 10, 2024 THE HOPEFULLY NOT SO BORING ADVENTURES OF ELDER WILLIAMSON CHAPTER LXXXVI

i'm seriously debating weather i put this in my email this week.. and honestly idrk, but i think i'm going to.. it'll be a little more serious tho, and pretty disturbing.. as in angering, and kinda leaves you feeling dum and helpless.. or at least it was for us.. so anyways here we go, if you don't wanna read it, you can hop out now.. basically we were having a typical day.. all our lessons were falling thru, and we were just trying to find someone to visit.. we got near the end of the day, and we decided to visit our friend esmeralda.. now esmeralda is on date to be baptized in 2 weeks.. she's been to church twice now, but only one of them counted because she got there late.. and she has lots of health issues.. she drinks lots of soda, and doesn't eat very healthy, and so we taught her pretty early on about the word of wisdom.. she told us that she was ok with all of it, because her doctors had told her that she had to stop drinking alcohol and coffee anyways for her health.. so we thought she was doing very well on those things.. but something has kinda been holding her back, and we haven't been sure what it is.. her mom is a member in a different ward, but esmeralda seems to have some kind of last minute crisis pop up every sunday morning so that she can't come to church.. so this last sunday, she again texted us on sunday morning to say that she was having some issues.. she wanted to come to church, but she needed to cook food for her dad.. we were fasting for fast sunday, and i was fasting for her to be able to come to church.. so when we got that text i was mad.. cuz that's happened so many times now.. so my comp and i decided to go to her house before church, to see if we could get her there.. so we went over there, and she was sitting outside of her house talking to some guy.. and she explained to us that the night before, her new pump for the water had leaked all over and filled up her house with water.. so she had started to clean it up, and then decided to call her neighbor (the dude she was talking to) who's wife cleans houses.. so she was there waiting.. so i was like "nah we're just gonna clean it right now, and then you're gonna come to church".. so we went up to her apartment, and there was barely any water (like legit just A puddle on the floor.. so we didn't even end up cleaning it up, we just convinced her to shower and get ready for church.. so she got ready surprisingly pretty fast, and we walked to church and we got there right on time to start.. she stayed for the 2 hours, and she loved it, she was crying during the testimony meeting because she was feeling the spirit so much.. and so everything was going well.. now, we jump back to this day we're having, where everything is falling thru, and we end up at the end of the night at her house.. and we go up to the door of her apartment, and knock on the door.. she doesn't answer, so we are just waiting there, and after a couple of minutes, she shows up walking up the stairs.. and she has this random guy with her.. and we say hi to them, and when she goes to shake my hand it was one of those awkward things where she kinda missed, but kinda got it.. and somehow i instantly knew she was drunk.. well that's not good.. so my comp is like "what do we do" and i was like, "wellll we should probably make sure she actually is, so we aren't just asuming anything".. so we start asking her questions, and talking to her, and she's super wasted, like she's slurring her words a ton, and doesn't know what she's talking about, sucking her thumb, and a bunch of things.. so we're asking her about if she drinks, and she says she only drinks wine without alcohol in it.. so we're giving her the benefit of the doubt, and we start to realize that this random guy is there.. she's super drunk.. he's not.. he just seems to be waiting there for us to leave.. like just sitting on tik tok, and continually looking at us like he wants us to leave.. and saying some pretty sus stuff to esmeralda.. so we start to realize the gravity of the situation.. and we're like, well we shouldn't leave this guy alone with her, but he's not leaving.. so we start asking him who he is, and what he's doing there.. and he starts getting super defensive, and more and more sus.. he says he has a wife and kid, and that he's just a friend of esmeralda.. but then when we ask him why he is there, he starts saying that esmeralda is his girlfriend on the side.. and that his wife actually knows about it.. and esmeralda is saying that that's not actually true, and that he just wAnts to be her boyfriend.. but she's super intoxicated, and thinks it's all a joke.. and he starts manipulating her into saying that they are dating.. so we tried calling esmeraldas mom who speaks english and we were gonna try to explain the situation and see if she could do anything to help.. and then esmeralda starts telling us that she actually drinks every day.. and that she wants to die.. and this guy just keeps feeding into it.. and my comp keeps trying to tell her that she can change, that we can help her, that she can get baptized.. and the guy starts laughing and telling her she can't be forgiven.. that we're trying to force her to be baptized.. so i thought we should call president, because i was out of ideas and i frankly had just no idea what to do besides just beating the crap out of this guy and throwing him out.. but pres didn't pick up, so i called the APs.. and the one who answered just said to get out.. so we left.. we left a super drunk lady alone with a man who claims to be her boyfriend, who is actually just esmeraldas dads shoufer that she had used to visit her mom that day.. so we left, we said a prayer in the street, and that was it.. today is wednesday and that happened last night.. i have no idea what happened, but we're gonna try to see what we can do, and ik we can help her overcome her alcoholism, that's easy for Jesus.. but we're really hoping that the guy just left.. afterwards, and didn't try anything.. idk... and now rereading this it isn't super clear what was going on.. or maybe it is idk.. but basically, he was waiting for us to leave so he could take advantage of a drunk lady... it's now saturday, and we still haven't seen her.. she's posted things on her story and texted us, but she's maybe ghosting us.. sooo that's not good.. buttt anyways, we haven't seen her since then.. but we think she's fine, cuz she's responding to our texts.. she didn't come to church, but we're going to try to visit her this week.. we'll see if she'll actually let us.. anyways tho, we still have some cool people who are progressing well, just working on getting them to accept baptism dates.. we had one super good lesson with one of our most progressing people on saturday night when she told us she didn't know if she was going to go to church the next day.. so i prayed super hard to have the spirit with us, and we showed her the video of the man blind from birth.. and if you haven't seen it, i would recommend.. but basically there's a dude that's blind, and the apostles ask Jesus why he's blind, if he sinned or his parents, and Jesus says that he is blind to show the power of God.. and then he spits on the ground, makes mud, and puts it on his eyes.. and then he tells him to walk alllll the way to a pool that's pretty far away.. and he washes.. and he is healed.. but the point of showing her, was to explain that the man was healed by his faith.. but faith requires action.. and so to walk to the pool was the action.. he showed his faith, and he was healed.. the miracle came after the trail of his faith.. and that's how God works.. so we invited her again to church, and promised her that she would see the miracles.. but only after she showed her faith.. and then she came, and it was so lit.. and it was definitely a miracle for us... anyways tho, that's all for the week, love you guys gave a great week! John 9 And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth. And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind? Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him. I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work. As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world. When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay, And said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing. The neighbours therefore, and they which before had seen him that he was blind, said, Is not this he that sat and begged? Some said, This is he: others said, He is like him: but he said, I am he. Therefore said they unto him, How were thine eyes opened? He answered and said, A man that is called Jesus made clay, and anointed mine eyes, and said unto me, Go to the pool of Siloam, and wash: and I went and washed, and I received sight. Then said they unto him, Where is he? He said, I know not. They brought to the Pharisees him that aforetime was blind. And it was the sabbath day when Jesus made the clay, and opened his eyes. Then again the Pharisees also asked him how he had received his sight. He said unto them, He put clay upon mine eyes, and I washed, and do see. Therefore said some of the Pharisees, This man is not of God, because he keepeth not the sabbath day. Others said, How can a man that is a sinner do such miracles? And there was a division among them. They say unto the blind man again, What sayest thou of him, that he hath opened thine eyes? He said, He is a prophet. But the Jews did not believe concerning him, that he had been blind, and received his sight, until they called the parents of him that had received his sight. And they asked them, saying, Is this your son, who ye say was born blind? how then doth he now see? His parents answered them and said, We know that this is our son, and that he was born blind: But by what means he now seeth, we know not; or who hath opened his eyes, we know not: he is of age; ask him: he shall speak for himself. These words spake his parents, because they feared the Jews: for the Jews had agreed already, that if any man did confess that he was Christ, he should be put out of the synagogue. Therefore said his parents, He is of age; ask him. Then again called they the man that was blind, and said unto him, Give God the praise: we know that this man is a sinner. He answered and said, Whether he be a sinner or no, I know not: one thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see. Then said they to him again, What did he to thee? how opened he thine eyes? He answered them, I have told you already, and ye did not hear: wherefore would ye hear it again? will ye also be his disciples? Then they reviled him, and said, Thou art his disciple; but we are Moses’ disciples. We know that God spake unto Moses: as for this fellow, we know not from whence he is. The man answered and said unto them, Why herein is a marvellous thing, that ye know not from whence he is, and yet he hath opened mine eyes. Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth. Since the world began was it not heard that any man opened the eyes of one that was born blind. If this man were not of God, he could do nothing. They answered and said unto him, Thou wast altogether born in sins, and dost thou teach us? And they cast him out. Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when he had found him, he said unto him, Dost thou believe on the Son of God? He answered and said, Who is he, Lord, that I might believe on him? And Jesus said unto him, Thou hast both seen him, and it is he that talketh with thee. And he said, Lord, I believe. And he worshipped him. And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind. And some of the Pharisees which were with him heard these words, and said unto him, Are we blind also? Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth.
