January 1, 2024 THE HOPEFULLY NOT SO BORING ADVENTURES OF ELDER WILLIAMSON CHAPTER LXIII

2024.. someone at some point was telling me that in the mission there's something called a "dark year".. basically, all elders, and a lot of sisters have a year of their mission that starts january first, and ends december 31... as in you have an entire full calender year inside of your mission.. and depending on when you start your mission, your dark year can be closer to the beginning of your mission, or can be near the end.. i've just had mine.. and because i started in october, it meant that i quickly went into a new year (2023) and then i had a full year, and now we're in 2024 ig... whichhhh.. is really weird... anyways let me think about what happened this week christmas was fun.. kinda.. on christmas eve we got a huge dinner and then christmas we were just supposed to stay at home the whole day, unless we had secured lessons after 6.. and we didn't have anything.. so we just sat at home all day, and that was kinda it they gave us 3 movies we could watch.. best 2 years.. polar express.. and klaus... i watched best 2 years in the morning, but then after that the internet got really slow, so i could only watch parts of the other 2.. but yah, we did literally nothing on wednesday the ZLs showed up to our house without telling us before hand to do an exchange.. best surprise late christmas present ever.. our ZLs are super lit, and we had a good exchange i went with elder bowden, and we spent a lot of it just trying to find people, which i really like doing, and it was chill then at home we scrambled on the phone trying to find anyone that would make us food.. cuz everyone was closing or out.. but we finally got some tiny sandwiches that were like double the price they should have been and then for some reason they wanted to sleep on the roof, so we brought our mattress up there to sleep and here is really cold (not aCtually, but it's like if you were camping in the fall, or really high in the mountains when it does get pretty cold)... sooo i was expecting to freeze and die, but it was actually not bad at all, and i slept pretty well and then we did a little more finding the next day we did some service for a lady in the branch.. she had us do some weeding basically, but instead of machetes she gave us kitchen knives.. and she made me put on her dad's shirt or something so that i wouldn't get allergies? and then we had district council the next day, in sabana yegua where the sisters live, which is like an hour away or something.. so i got a pretty good nap going there and coming back.. we were supposed to do a baptismal interview down there too, but ig the guy who was gonna get interviewed had to go to work, and his phone is broken so he couldn't tell the sisters and then somehow just randomly on the drive back i got a head cold, or something and was sneezing a ton, and had a super runny nose.. all that stuff... and now that i'm thinking about it, it cOuld have just been delayed allergies from the weeding? idk but it wasn't bad.. it just meant that i got 3 appointments to drink tea, which is their cure for gripe ("the flu" aka any time you don't feel good) and then the next day i slept for like an hour after lunch cuz my body was just super tired from fighting off a tiny cold.. ig i just haven't been that sick recently, so i've gotten weaker at fighting diseases and then on sunday we had some friends come to church, which was super lit, cuz it's been a while since this area has had people at church that's all tho, have a great week, love you guys! mosiah 18:8-10 And it came to pass that he said unto them: Behold, here are the waters of Mormon (for thus were they called) and now, as ye are desirous to come into the fold of God, and to be called his people, and are willing to bear one another’s burdens, that they may be light; Yea, and are willing to mourn with those that mourn; yea, and comfort those that stand in need of comfort, and to stand as witnesses of God at all times and in all things, and in all places that ye may be in, even until death, that ye may be redeemed of God, and be numbered with those of the first resurrection, that ye may have eternal life— Now I say unto you, if this be the desire of your hearts, what have you against being baptized in the name of the Lord, as a witness before him that ye have entered into a covenant with him, that ye will serve him and keep his commandments, that he may pour out his Spirit more abundantly upon you?
