August 19, 2024 THE HOPEFULLY NOT SO BORING ADVENTURES OF ELDER WILLIAMSON CHAPTER LXXXXVI

helloooooo i'm here still.. so we had a baptism last night.. it was luisa.. we found her in the first week of the transfer in my comps second day or something.. and we invited her to church.. and she came that first sunday.. and we invited her to get baptized.. it took a little longer cuz she was a little slow to understand, but she's now come to church 5 times, and she's the newest member of the manoguayabo ward.. she's a bit older, like 60ish, but she's super cool.. when we showed up at her house tho to take her to the baptism (cuz we have to do it at another chapel cuz there's no font at ours).. and she told us she would need to wait until december, because she didn't feel prepared enough to be baptized.. so i was like.. "uhhhh whAt? why?" and she was like "well i have sugar (diabetes) and high blood pressure, and i don't think i'm ready to be baptized because of that.. and i was like "uhhh baptism doesn't have anything to do with our physical health, it's more about our spirit and our willingness to follow Jesus.. and she was like "i'm ready, but i don't want any complications with the water and stuff" so my comp was like "you're afraid of the water?" and she laughed and was like "no, but i've seen baptisms before, and they go up behind the person and shove them face first into the water" and i was like "uhhh do you know how we baptize? if you want we can do it very gently, like the water will only be up to your waist, and if you want you can kneel down, and my comp will do it slowly and calmly" so then she was like "oh ok, give me some time to shower" and then we were off.. and then at the baptism she was still a little worried, but luckily our elders corum president doctor flete (greatest doctor in the world) was there to make her feel safe and tell her he wouldn't let anything happen (cuz he's a doctor).. so yah, that went well.. other than that, we have another cool grandma who is reading the book of mormon and loving it, we found her last week and she is already learning all about joseph smith and she came to church for the first time yesterday, and loved it.. sooo turns out.. after all this time.. the church is actually true.. God is our loving Heavenly Father.. Jesus is the Savior and Redemer.. and i'm just a random kid in the DR.. that's the only way any of these things are possible, cuz i'm a pretty terrible salesman.. but the Holy Ghost testifies of truth... have a great week, love you guys! alma 43:9 And now the design of the Nephites was to support their lands, and their houses, and their wives, and their children, that they might preserve them from the hands of their enemies; and also that they might preserve their rights and their privileges, yea, and also their liberty, that they might worship God according to their desires.

weeee had transfers.. said goodbye to canada boy, and i have received a new comp.. we got a call on tuesday before transfers, and pres told me i was gonna be training again.. i thought it would be a gringo, cuz usually there are more gringos that come in at this time of year than latinos.. buttt at these transfers there was only one gringo elder that came in.. sooo i got elder Ibargüen.. he's from panama, so he speaks spanish, and he was studying english before the mission so he knows a little.. annnd he was called to speak haitian creole.. which is a littttle awkward not gonna lie, cuz i definitely don't be speaking such language.. cuzzz i wanted to focus on mastering spanish (which i am still far from).. and the other thing, is that there aren't any haitain speaking wards or even branches in our mission.. annnd because of that, there are no sacrament meetings in haitain.. sooo i haven't put any emphasis in teaching in creole, because they n...

August 21, 2023 THE HOPEFULLY NOT SO BORING ADVENTURES OF ELDER WILLIAMSON CHAPTER XXXXIV

vroooom vroom.. *there's an amazon store in my area now.. which means i can go in there and order things from amazon, and it will ship to the store.. it costs a little extra and everything, but my shoes are a bit holy.. so i got some new ones.. we'll see when they actually decide to show up *also on monday, i saw on somebody's story from san cristobal, that there had been some kind of huge explosion.. a ton of people hurt.. killed.. it took out 3 buildings completely.. and damaged a ton of other buildings too.. *so that was super random.. i had lived in cambita before, which is technically part of san cristobal.. it's about 20 min away, but i've been to san cristobal many times before, since i lived over there for 6 months *but anyways, one of the other nights, we were teaching this lady, and going over the plan of salvation, or the plan of heavenly father (it's now called) and we asked her why she thinks we are here on the earth.. and she kinda jokingl...

October 2, 2023 THE HOPEFULLY NOT SO BORING ADVENTURES OF ELDER WILLIAMSON CHAPTER L

thank goodness to elder helquist here who could confirm that L was the correct number... *welll.. it's been an interesting week for sure *we've stayed at home about half of the days because of sickness *but for the first time in my mission, it's not me who's sick *my comp has some kind of ameba parasite *i won't go into the details of what that actually means (cuz i have no idea) but the symptoms are pretty weird *but we weren't really sure what was going on for a while, and we had to go to the hospital like 3 or 4 times to get all of the tests and everything done for them to be sure *but he's been doing better for the last couple days, and he got a tonnn of medicine *he has two types of pills.. one he has to take every 12 hours for 7 days.. the other he has to take once every day for the next month *and then the last one is a kind of little liquid stuff that he says doesn't really have much flavor, it's just kinda oily *anyways tho, h...
