April 8, 2024 THE HOPEFULLY NOT SO BORING ADVENTURES OF ELDER WILLIAMSON CHAPTER LXXVII

general conference is cool.. we also had zone conference this week.. we learned about always focusing on Jesus Christ, and focused on baptism.. we've found some pretty cool people lately, that will hopefully be willing to come to church.. and some of our friends watched general conference.. quotes of conference: "a life of integrity is not a life of perfection; it is a life in which we strive every day to foremost be true to God and, within that context, to be true to others" -Elder Jack N. Gerard i know i learned a lot of things from this talk that i need to apply better in my life.. like never putting loving my neighbor before loving God.. or in other words, not doing things that would be contrary to the will of God just to please other people, or not potentially hurt their feelings... "it probably goes without saying that everyone wants to be happy.. nevertheless, it also goes without saying that not everyone is happy.. sadly, it seems that for many people, happiness is hard to find" -Elder Dieter F. Uchtorf i know that happiness can come from the things of this world.. that's why God gave us this world.. but a higher happiness can be found thru the application of the teachings of Jesus Christ in our lives.. "while not all circumstances turn out like we may hope and pray for, God's miracles will always come according to his will, his timing, and his plan for us" -Elder Shayne M. Bowen God always answers our prayers.. it might not come when we think, or in the way we want.. but the answers always come.. "it is for reasons only known to God why prayers are answered differently than we hope-but they are heard, and they are answered according to his unfailing love and timetable" -Elder Jeffrey R. Holland that talk was just insanely good.. "it may not be a pillar of light, but rather many small rays of light" -Elder Alexander Dushku this one too.. "we hear him in the words of scripture, but do we just let them sit on the page, or do we recognize he is speaking to us? do we change?" -Elder Ronald A. Rasband our words and what we do with them is very important.. annnnd 2 new temples in utah!!! anyways, have a great week, love you guys!

vroooom vroom.. *there's an amazon store in my area now.. which means i can go in there and order things from amazon, and it will ship to the store.. it costs a little extra and everything, but my shoes are a bit holy.. so i got some new ones.. we'll see when they actually decide to show up *also on monday, i saw on somebody's story from san cristobal, that there had been some kind of huge explosion.. a ton of people hurt.. killed.. it took out 3 buildings completely.. and damaged a ton of other buildings too.. *so that was super random.. i had lived in cambita before, which is technically part of san cristobal.. it's about 20 min away, but i've been to san cristobal many times before, since i lived over there for 6 months *but anyways, one of the other nights, we were teaching this lady, and going over the plan of salvation, or the plan of heavenly father (it's now called) and we asked her why she thinks we are here on the earth.. and she kinda jokingl...

October 2, 2023 THE HOPEFULLY NOT SO BORING ADVENTURES OF ELDER WILLIAMSON CHAPTER L

thank goodness to elder helquist here who could confirm that L was the correct number... *welll.. it's been an interesting week for sure *we've stayed at home about half of the days because of sickness *but for the first time in my mission, it's not me who's sick *my comp has some kind of ameba parasite *i won't go into the details of what that actually means (cuz i have no idea) but the symptoms are pretty weird *but we weren't really sure what was going on for a while, and we had to go to the hospital like 3 or 4 times to get all of the tests and everything done for them to be sure *but he's been doing better for the last couple days, and he got a tonnn of medicine *he has two types of pills.. one he has to take every 12 hours for 7 days.. the other he has to take once every day for the next month *and then the last one is a kind of little liquid stuff that he says doesn't really have much flavor, it's just kinda oily *anyways tho, h...

July 15, 2024 THE HOPEFULLY NOT SO BORING ADVENTURES OF ELDER WILLIAMSON CHAPTER LXXXXI

weeee had transfers.. said goodbye to canada boy, and i have received a new comp.. we got a call on tuesday before transfers, and pres told me i was gonna be training again.. i thought it would be a gringo, cuz usually there are more gringos that come in at this time of year than latinos.. buttt at these transfers there was only one gringo elder that came in.. sooo i got elder Ibargüen.. he's from panama, so he speaks spanish, and he was studying english before the mission so he knows a little.. annnd he was called to speak haitian creole.. which is a littttle awkward not gonna lie, cuz i definitely don't be speaking such language.. cuzzz i wanted to focus on mastering spanish (which i am still far from).. and the other thing, is that there aren't any haitain speaking wards or even branches in our mission.. annnd because of that, there are no sacrament meetings in haitain.. sooo i haven't put any emphasis in teaching in creole, because they n...
